A Leader I admire!!!

Well at our Stamping Get Together a couple of weekends ago I met a demonstrator from out of town and she ROCKS!!! She is a military wife in Gander, Newfoundland. She is originally from Ontario and is a mother of two. Every four years or so her husband gets stationed in different places! She enjoys scrapbooking, cardmaking and stamping. PLUS, she is a Weight Watchers leader - she lost about 90lbs in a year!!! WOW!!! I greatly admire her and her energy and devotion to her family!!! YOU ROCK!!! I am not going to mention her name because I never asked her if I could, but I will show you what she was working on that weekend! A-MAY-ZING!!!

Two picture frames with both her children's name in them!!! GORGEOUS and I am CASING this for sure ~ that is Copy and Share EVERYTHING!!! Now the first two pics would change for me so you'll have to tilt your head a bit to get the jist!!!

Wow!!! Today is my birthday!!! YAY!!! I woke up this morning with my son Aidan giving me a card with an Itunes gift card in it (bought the new Lady Gaga!!!) and my other son Nicholas bringing me my morning coffee!!! Then myself, hubby and the boys sat and chatted in bed!!! My fav way to wake up!!!

I'm going to leave you with another scrap page I did last weekend and then go spend the day with my family!!!

Good day all you wonderful people!!! How has your day been going? Well, here in St. John's the weather at one point was 23 degrees!!! WICKED!!! That has been the warmest by far!!! But, now...it's raining, but still somewhat warm! Can't complain though!!!

So, next page of my scrapbook is with my son and my husband, titled "Just me and my Dad!" So beautiful!!! For the title I used my friends other machine that starts with a "C"...first time using it and I was IMPRESSED!!! HAHAHA!!!

The paper is from the Sweet Pea Paper pack from last year, old olive satin ribbon and the large buttons from the last couple of minis. LOVE IT!!! See you tomorrow with more fun stuff!!!

I'm Back!!!

HI FELLOW STAMPERS!!!
I am BACK!!! Woohoo!!! So, it has been since October that I posted last and honestly, I MISSED YOU!!! Anyway, I have my first year of Nursing School completed, YAY ME, and will be home this summer with my boys!!!

I can't tell you how much I missed stamping...the first time I stamped since November was only a couple of weeks ago! I KNOW!!! Can you believe it!!! Then, this past weekend I went to our Strawberry SUperstampers get away and stamped and scrapped ALL weekend!!! I can't believe how much I missed it!!! So, I figured that the best thing to keep me on my toes it to share with you guys the stuff I'm doing!!! Starting with....items from my getaway weekend!!!

So, what I was working on this past weekend was my 3yr old son's scrapbook from when I was pregnant till he came out of the hospital (I know, I'm slow!!!). This was one of the pages I did. I was inspired by our gracious leader, Kay, which then went on to inspire two more people. Two girls saw my layout and then ran with it and made it their own. Their creations are below!!!

A Sad Goodbye!

Hey everyone. As you can obviously tell, I haven't been able to post. The reasons are numerous, but mainly between school and family I have had anytime to do anything.

So, instead of posting here and there I have come to realize that it isn't fair to you nor is it to me. Therefore, I will no longer be blogging anymore.

I've really enjoyed this past year and a half blogging for you all and your wonderful support and comments. Thank you all...

More Wicked-ness!

So, as you can probably tell, I have a bit of a fascination with the set, Wicked Cool! Believe it or not, I don't actually own this set...I borrow it! The two projects I'm going to show you was on display at our demo meeting! I don't have the slightest clue who made them, so, girls...if it's yours let me know!

OK, this card would be a great card to give to someone for Halloween, with a little treat of course! How about this next project?

This AWESOME treat bag uses the new brown bags from the Holiday Mini! PLUS, my new fav embossing folder, a spider web!!! Too cool, eh?

Hey! How are you guys all doing? I've missed all you FABULOUS people! I am back and with a vengence! So, this past moth has been crazy busy for me. I started Nursing School, Aidan started kindergarten and Nicholas is now in daycare. But, things are now a bit back to 'normal'!!!

So, I've got a little Halloween something for you...a nice treat holder. I CASE'D it from a fellow demo who had one of these on display at our last Strawberry SUperstampers Meeting. I really think I'll be doing this for Aidan's Kindergarten class this year!

Pretty cute, eh? And SUPER easy to make!!! It's just a rectangular piece of cardstock scored, folded and the candy stapled together, then decorated.

Some-beary Special Mask!

Hello, again! Sorry I'm a so late with this post, but just as I was sitting down to write my post...Nicholas woke up with night terrors! And, that usually last awhile, with crying, screaming, thrashing and so on. He won't even let me touch him, so all I can do is sit on the floor and make sure he doesn't hurt himself... tthen Glenn was out of town and once the boys went to bed...so did I!!!

Anyway, did you guess the sneak peek items from the previous post? Well, there is a punch under the oval verse, called " decorative punch! LOVE IT!!! And the scalloped square is a new Big Shot Die that also has a smaller scalloped square as well!!!

So, today's post has some more sneak peak items in it, plus a mini tutorial on masking.

So, first what I did was stamp my bear and hat on some scrap paper. For me it didn't have to be cut perfect, jus the head and hat.

Next, using dotto, I stuck both the scraps down on my waterpaper, to get the position of where I wanted them.

Then I took away the bear. Why, you may ask? Well, let's see...

So, using my St amp-a-ma-jig, I stamped by bear.

Then positioned him OVER my hat, took away the imaged bear WITHOUT moving my S-A-M-J and stamped my bear.

Once you remove the hat, this is what you have! A space to stamp his hat without having his head exposed!!!

Next, I'll S-A-M-J the hat, an apple and lunch box.

Volia! Now for my watercolouring! I like to use my aqua-painter with my classic ink pads.

Once I get all my coloring done I go around my object on one side with my fine tip Basic Grey marker to make my shadow. So, I'm thinking that my 'light source' is coming from the right so my shadow will be on the left. Once I have my grey lines done I go back with my aqua painter and smudge the grey.

See how faded the shadow is!

An Anniversary Sneak Peek!

So, today is the first in a series of things I'm going to show you as Sneak Peek items from the Holiday Mini!!! Trust me, your going to LOVE IT!!!

You wouldn't believe how easy, and quick, this card was/is to make!!! Can you guess what the 2 items I used from the mini?

So, basically I used my Big Shot, some punches, ribbon, a background stamp and the basic pearls!!! I think it took me 15min to make!!!

For the inside I used a stamp from the new set called "Word Play," so it reads 'You mean the world to me, Happy Anniversary.' This is the card I'll be giving Glenn for our 8th anniversary on the 31st.

So, it's been a while since I've last posted! It's amazing how time just flies during the summer, CRAZY!!! Well, lots of things have happened in the stamping world since we've last spoke...mainly the NEW STAMPIN' UP CATALOGUE!!! Can I just say GORGEOUS!!! I pretty much want EVERYTHING!!! But, alas, that's not possible! Now, on Sunday we demos get to pre-order from the Holiday Mini, again I WANT IT ALL!!! I'll just tell you one thing...LOTS OF CHRISTMAS STUFF...and a new product, punches, stamps...

Well, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth! Just been really busy with life! Also, some milk was spilt on my new laptop so there are a number of keys not working! My Weight Loss Journey...

Happy May 2-4!!! So, I'm back with my regular posts and I have a scrap page made with MDS for you!

So, I am starting a scrapbook of my weightloss journey and here is my first page using MY DIGITAL STUDIO! This is a 5x5 page layout of a MDS design template, meaning that all I had to do was insert my pictures and journaling. So, welcome and Happy Hump Day!!! The week is half over and I promised you weddings today!

The card I'm showing you tonight is a card I've done for a couple of Summer Mini swaps I've participated in. This is one version, the other I used Pretty in Pink instead of all the black. This card uses the new set Blissful Bride. I LOVE it! It is such a pretty set!!! If you're wondering about the paper it's the Bride paper found in the Idea Book and Catalogue (there is also a Groom in black and Bridesmaid in Very Vanilla).

What is it about weddings that make you so, ahhh? What I did with this pretty dress was stamp in in Basic Black onto Vellum paper, then flipped it over and coloured the ribbon in Pretty in Pink Classic Ink with my blender pen. Isn't is just pretty? Sandy Beaches...and new line up!

Ahh, can't you just feel that ocean breeze now...mmmm, pina colada....hot sun...oh, wait now...it's around 3degrees celcius where I am...arggg...oh, well, it doesn't hurt to dream now does it ;)

Cute card, eh? I recieved this as part of a swap from the INKcredible Canadian Divas team I am part of! I wish I knew who did this card as there was no name on it!!! If you know who did this let me know so I can give credit to them!!!

Anyway, this awesome card actually uses the sticky paper we have with sand poured onto it, hence the sandy beach! I forgot to take a close up of the sand so I'll do that later tonight and post it for you!!!

The majority of the items found on this card are from the new Summer Mini Catalogue!!! LOVE IT!!! We have the Tropical Party stamp set and the verse is actually from the Elements of Style set!!! Don't you just love it!!!

I have a plan made of what I want to do each day with my blog! That's what I have to do, if I don't PLAN things just don't get done!!! So, here is the NEW weekly blog lineup!!!

Hey! So, Friday I was telling you about the demo meeting I had on Thursday night. It was so much FUN!!! Anyway, at our meetings we ALWAYS make a couple of make and takes! So, I had to show you the 12x12 scrapbook page that we did! It's AWESOME!!!

So, how F-U-N is this!!! Ha! I changed my words from what everyone had done, the FUN was going sideways down the side, but I liked it like this better!

In the pictures above you can see all the added details with the new Tropical themed stamps, die and paper! LOVE IT!!!

So, I'll be back tomorrow (Tuesday) with the recipe for this page as it's bedtime for me!

So, last weekend was the Royal Blog Tour! AWESOME!!! I had so much fun and made SO many new friends! Thanks to all of you!!! Now...I haven't heard from the winner of my blog candy...the projects I made and the $25 Stampin' Up! gift card!!!

So, Amanda, I've tried contacting you but haven't heard back, soooo...if I don't hear from you by Monday, then I'll redraw for a winner!!!

Ok, so Tuesday we brought Max (our black devil cat ;) to the vet for his annual flea shot. Then after that I brought both Aidan and Nicholas to get their hair cut. Then we noticed that Max wasn't doing so well, meaning he wasn't walking OR eating and thought maybe it was just a side effect to he shot (I know...). Anyway, I then registered for the Arthritis Society's WALK TO FIGHT ARTHRITIS on May 30th! YAY ME!!! I'm walking 5km and raising money for the Arthritis Society! You can check it out HERE!!!

Wednesday was Picture Day for Aidan's Preschool Class! So cute!!! He graduates from preschool on May 27! They're even having a party! Anyway, that night I was working on my swaps for my demo meeting for Thursday night!

Thursday night was my demo meeting and I brought a friend who is thinking about signing up! It was so fun!!!

Today was more of slow day, it's an icky day misty off and on, and my arthritis is acting up. So, 1pm Glenn's parents show up and take the boys for the rest of the day! THANK YOU BERTHA AND ERIC!!! They've been gone all week and needed their fill of grandchildren! So, I spent the afternoon lying down and watching The Vampire Diaries (MY FAVOURITE SHOW)and Grey's Anatomy.

So, busy week but I do have a little something to show you. A friend of mine made a bookmark for herself. She doesn't use bookmarks, she actually uses pictures of her children. But, then she actually wanted to have the pics protected somewhat (since they tend to buckle and rip). Anyway, here it is!

So, here is her bookmark! One side is her son, Matthew (who'll be 3 in a couple of weeks) and the other side is her daughter, Sarah (Aidan's girlfriend). I LOVE it and I'm going to need to make one myself!!!

Hi Stampers and Color Lovers! :)

With Stampin' Up!'s recent about the Color Renovation they expected an increase in orders for the retiring color products. The responce has been amazing! Everyone wants to be sure to stock up on their favorite old colors. As a result of the overwhelming responce a few colors have already sold out or been placed on backorder.

In reguards to the Reinkers and card stock orders here's what you need to know...

Reinkers will be available through May 31st. Reinkers may be placed and backordered. Backordered reinkers will be shipped when the supply has been replenished. After June 1st, the reinkers will again be avaliable only as supplies last.

The card stock is a much more difficult process to manufacture. There are not sufficient supplies to fill backorders. As a substitute, Stampin up will fill backorders with textured card stock. Effective today, card stock supplies are as supplies last.

If you want to stock up on retiring color products (reinkers, card stock, ribbon, buttons, and more.), please place your order asap.

Welcome to my Castle. I hope you "royally" enjoy the projects I've prepared for your visit. I've been creating up a storm! I LOVE the projects I have made for you today and I hope you will too!

The stamp set I'll be featuring for you today is the Sincere Salutations set found on page 143 of your Idea Book and Catalogue! I feel that this set is quite a versitle one to have on hand for all your greeting needs. Say there is a specific image you'd like to use from one stamp set, but there isn't a greeting in that set you want to use...pull out your Sincere Salutations set and viola, eight beautiful greetings to choose from.

The first project I have for you is a card. Here I used the Birthday Wishes stamp with the Elements of Style stamp set that is in the new Summer Mini Catalogue starting May 1st!!! In this set there isn't a Happy Birthday stamp, so...I pulled out my Sincere Salutations set and here we go!

On this card I did some watercolouring, used my BIG SHOT (don't forget the opportunity to win one on the RBT!), and the Pretties Kit! You can't see it here but I used a little somethin' somethin' NEW on the card... here let's see if you can see it better...

See my hummingbird? I used a new product from the Summer Mini called Smooch Spritz, it's like glitter paint in a spray bottle! YUM!

Don't forget the inside!

The next project I have for you is a gift box to go with my card! Hmmm, nice gift box, eh? Well, I got the box from my online store (in the clearance rack) then I just dressed it up! Again, I used my Big Shot with my Two Tags die and a new embossing folder from the Summer Mini called Square Lattice, my Elements of Style set and the Best Wishes stamp from the Sincere Salutations set. Now, I wanted to keep with my birthday theme so on the inside of the tag I wrote... "on your birthday!" So, my tag reads, "Best Wishes, on your birthday!"

Now, what's a gift box without something to go in it?

Here is a beautiful broach I made that started this whole theme! The material is a floral pattern which I pulled the colours from. I used my Big Shot, again, to do this and then I hand stitched it all together!

Wow! I'm amazed with the response I've been getting regarding the items I made for the Royal Blog Tour! Thank you all so much for your kind words!

So, onto today's post! I've missed doing some challenges lately and thought, hey...lets give one a try! I hopped on over to the PALS Paper Arts challenge and their challenge for this week is "Monocromatic Blues"! I LOVE using blue and though "easy" so, I then went over to the Mojo site ('cause you can't create without a sketch" and BINGO, great sketch...square or circle!

Here is my take on the square sketch! I used MY DIGITAL STUDIO (I only had a few minutes so this was the fastest way to proceed) and LOVE how it all turned out.

But, here's the thing...I had to do so many different changes to my html codes PLUS I did a lot in Adobe Photoshop that it'll be too hard to do a tutorial.

Another Change!

So, I've changed the background! For those of you here for the first time, my background was a bit more busy! So, the people spoke and I obliged!!!

I should let you all know that I was completely inspired by the fabulously talented, Patti Bennett! That woman is AMAZING!!! And, I'm all giddy because Patti emailed me, yes little ol' ME, to tell me that my new look is "ADORABLE"! How sweeet is she!!! Ten Minutes or Less Card

Ya, I know! Really, I don't think I've ever made a card in under ten minutes! I never thought it even possible, but...I follow two really great blogs from two fabulous ladies and they have a weekly challenge called "Ten Minute Cards" so I thought, Hey...let's give it a try!

Here we go...

So, here's my timer...ick...this is not going to be fun...

Hmmm, that took long enough...

Sad, but I can't see the timer here...can you tell what I'm going to do?

So, I made a pencil line so that I can have a STRAIGHT line to stamp my flower stems on, but I still didn't get them straight! Oh well, I'll blame it on my panic attack from watching the timer ;)

I think this says two minutes and some odd seconds...believe it or not I DID use my stamp-a-ma-jig but again, too busy (and stressed out) watching the timer!

So, I got it done, 36 seconds left! Here inside of my card...

...and the outside! CRAZY!!! So, next time I've just got to not freak out so much!!!

A Spring Song and some NEWS!!!

Hello everybody! Happy Easter!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, I know I sure did!!! We had a very beautiful weekend, weatherwise, and spent most of the time outdoors. The boys had fun finding their eggs left by the Easter bunny!!! Then we went to my parents house where we shared a beautiful turkey dinner with my family and the boys had another egg hunt with their cousins (who are 18mths and 9mths), needless to say Aidan WON the egg hunt!!! Then we went to Glenn's parents house where we had another wonderful turkey dinner!!!

Anyway, here is a card that I did with my stampers group last week. It was my first time doing watercolouring and I LOVE IT!!! I always found that the whole idea of watercolouring was a little intimidating...well, I took the plunge and can't believe how easy is!!! Here is my card...

Isn't it beautiful? It was actually quite simple! I stamped my image with the Staz On black ink (since it doesn't bleed when you wet it) onto watercolour paper. Then I used my Aqua Painter and my stamp pads and coloured in my image. I started with my base colours, which were lighter in colour and then I went back in with some darker colours! Then once I had my image completed I went back with my grey marker and traced the underside of my image only on the left hand sides and the undersides as if that would be where my shadow was falling. Then I took my aqua painter and went over the grey lines to blend them in. Easy peasy! I think this is something that you'll see regularly on my blog! YAY!!! So, a word of advice...don't be intimidated by a technique, because you never know until you try!

Ok, now for some news! Remember how I've been working on my stamping room? Well, I've been featured on the wonderful site, Crafty Storage! Marie Kirkwood, who is a member of Crafty Storage, had been following my redo and asked me a while ago if she could feature me...of course I said yes!!! Anyway, the feature went up yesterday, and THANK YOU, MARIE!!! See here for my feature!!!

My Stampin' Up! Story!

Tonight, I thought I'd share my Stampin' Up! story with you. I'm actually doing the Stampin' Up! Recruit Crew to help me get some demo recruits and one of the things we've been told to do is share our story of how we became demonstrators!

So, I was actually first introduced to Stampin' Up! in 2004. I was living in Prince Edward Island at the time and a friend of mine had become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator so that she could get a discount and make her own invitations. So, she called me up and said, "Look Christine I've just become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and I need to have a workshop, so...you HAVE to host it!" I was like, "Ok, what's Stampin' Up?" Needless to say, I was not into doing card making and scrapbooking...I was actually into making stuffed teddy bears (but that's a whole other story). She explained it to me and then told me what we'll be doing so I said, "Sure, why not." I invited my friends, had the party, had alot of fun, learned some things, placed an order and got FREE STUFF! I was like "SWEET!" This is what started my stamping addiction.

Eventually, I had Aidan and was like ok, got to scrapbook (yes, I was scrappin all along, but now was getting more serious). I got two books done for him, my pregnancy and his first year. Then we moved back to Newfoundland and I got out of stamping 'cause "I couldn't find the time!"

Then I found out I was pregnant with Nicholas and was right back into the, "I've got to scrapbook this" mode again! So, I started going to classes at my local scrapbook store almost everyweek. I saw it as 'my' time, a chance for me to get out and do something that had nothing to do with Glenn or Aidan. Plus, I was recording very precious memories AND creating something I was very proud of! Once we had Nicholas and I was off for a year on maternity leave, we (myself and Glenn) decided that I'd stay home with the boys instead of going back to work. Then panic mode set in. What am I going to do? I'm going to be housebound all the time. How will I be able to have time to myself because if I'm not working then we don't have extra money for my stamping classes...wait now... HOW AM I GOING TO PAY FOR MY SUPPLIES? Yes, I know...a little dramatic, but that is what was going through my head even though nothing was really going to change.

Then I remembered Stampin' Up! and realized, "Hey, I get emails from a demo I met at a craft fair...maybe I should check it out?" So, I researched everything I could on Stampin' Up! and becoming a demonstrator and this is what drew me to signing up.
1. The 20% discount. I was still stamping so why not get a discount.
2. Earning money on sales. Alot of people scrapbook so why don't I sell it and earn the money myself.
3. Earning a trip. Ok, nothing wrong with going on FREE cruises.
4. Meeting new people. I love meeting new people so...
5. Meeting people who shared the same interests. Nothing wrong there!!!
6. Getting out of the house! Hey, I needed a girls night out!
7. Performance bonuses.
8. An outlet for my mental insanity. Yes, hanging out with 2 and 4 year olds ALL the time can drive one insane (especially when it's two boys) so, stamping lets me free my mind.
9. Aidan and Nicholas LOVE making things. This is something I can do with them.

Glenn and I then talked it over, I called Kerry and signed up that night! And here I am a year and a half later still loving my decision!

Stamp out Cancer Fundraising Event!

Hi Everyone! This is an event that I'm really excited about! The Canadian Cancer Society is very close to my heart. My aunt Frances had cancer and she was such a wonderful and beautiful person. She was a fighter and lived with cancer for about 17 years! She passed away in the fall at the age of 50. I've learned so much from her...

So that's why I've chosen to do a fundraiser for the Newfoundland Division of the Canadian Cancer Society. I'm hoping that you will come and have lots of fun with us while we support a fantastic cause.

Join me for a fun afternoon of stamping at my 1st Annual Stamp out Cancer event! Proceeds from this event will be donated to the Newfoundland and Labrador division of the Canadian Cancer Society.

SUper Strawberry Stampers Shoebox Swap!!!

WOW! Now ain't that title a mouthful! Last Thursday was our shoebox swap for our demo group (everyone signed up under Kay Smith)! It was so much fun! All the girls in our group are awesome! There was a new demo there that I met, well...not quite new, but her first time to one of our meetings, her name is Veronica and she is so sweet (hi Veronica!). You meet all kinds of wonderful people when your a demo, especially people you have alot in common with! Veronica LOVES stamping (obviously) and has two boys (4 and 6, I do believe)! Awesome!!!

Wanna see a couple of cards we did? Wait now, do you guys know what a shoebox swap is? Well, here is a quick and dirty definition...you make a card and bring enough materials for "x" number of people, so 'I' would place my supplies at table #1 and I'll start making cards at table #2 and then I'd continue on for the same amount that I brought...so, I brought enough for 12 cards and so I'll go from #2 to #14. Clear as mud?

This card is the one I made! LOVE IT!!! It's a 3D glass card with lemonade! YAY!!!

I did make this one as well, but it was designed by my upline Kerry! Isn't it a beauty!

This last one I made but was designed by our group leader, Kay!

So, I'll be back again tomorrow!

My Die Storage!

Well, here we are again, I must say I'm really enjoying these posts! I've gotten so many compliments that I think my head is starting to swell! HAHAHA!!! Actually, I've always been a little bit of an organizing freak, but since having kids I've found that I usually try to take the easy and fastest way out (hence the messy stamp room!).

Anyway, onto today's post! It will actually be a quick one as I'm doing this before supper since I have our demo shoebox swap tonight! I'll show you them tomorrow!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!

This is how I store my dies!

It's a SUPER large purse that one of my sister's gave me for Christmas, a little to large a purse for me but it works out GREAT for my dies (since I don't have that many!). I store them with the name facing up so that I can see it and my embossing folders and texturz plates in the inside pockets! Then I just take the purse and put it under my desk where I keep my Big Shot!

And this is where I keep my Big Shot and my Circle Scissors Plus. I'm actually finding that I use it more often now that it's out in a place where I can see it and enough room to actually use it! Also, you can see in the bottom of the picture my die bag and the other case is where I store things to alter and decorate (ie, white paper bags, clear Christmas bulbs, etc). If you look closely on the little shelves above the CSP you can see my multipurpose platform and standard cutting sheets PLUS the long platform and long cutting sheets for those long sizzlets dies. Eveything within reach! LOVE IT!!!

My new FAVOURITE thing!

HAPPY ST. PADDY'S DAY!!!

I knew when I was cleaning my room that I wanted something to keep my 'most used' stuff close at hand (you know, things like scissors, bone fold, adhesive and so forth). For the past year I've been eyeballin' the Making Memories White Carosel Organizer...I've been agonizing over getting it, but kept putting it off because it cost sooo much ($54.99 to be exact, at Micheals). So, when I gutted my stamping room I promised myself that I was going to get it...you know, for being so good!

As I trotted on over to Micheal's I was really excited, 'cause I had my coupon (never shopt there without one!). I went in and went directly to the shelf where it's kept ('cause, you know where everything is you want to buy!), and THERE WAS NONE THERE! I almost had a heart attack...so, I went and found an employee and asked if they had anymore, her response, "They were just on sale for 50% off and they're all sold out. Unfortunately, we won't be getting anymore...we're not going to be carrying it!" WHAT THE H*^#! This is Micheal's you carry EVERYTHING! YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT I'VE BEEN PUTTING OFF BUYING THIS FOR A YEAR AND YOU WON'T BE CARRYING IT ANYMORE!!! Well, I didn't actually say that to her, I politely said, "OK, thanks!" with a big, fake smile on my face!

So, now what was going to do? Luckily, Michael's is attached to Staples and so I went in. I was determined to get something and I wasn't leaving! And here is what I got!!! I LOVE IT!!!

All things green and a little organizing...

This week's challenge at Stampin' Royalty is using ONLY GREEN! Well, I've been wanting to use the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt as a shamrock since I've seen Angie over at Chic'n Scratch using them...I LOVE IT! Plus, I'm really likin' the Scallop Square die for a card! So, this is what I came up with! Cute, isn't it?

So, here is the inside...I used the small heart punch to make these clovers...LOVE IT!!!

Ok, so yesterday during my reveal I told you that I'll be showing you various organizing things that have been working for me since I've started/finished my room. Below is my organizing corner behind my door. I didn't even have to go out and buy them! I first got all of them (the two shelves and baskets) back when Aidan was born, I kept it in his closet with things like bibs, diapers, etc, etc and then for Nicholas as well. So, they were still in Nicholas' closet with NOTHING in them!!! And they fit perfectly behind the door...ah, destiny...

So, what do I keep in them? I'll let you know...LOVE IT!

Basket #1 (top left): hardware, such as build a brads, very vanilla and styled silver hodpodge hardware, pretties kit and the turquoise tin you see on the top of the basket holds my acrylic blocks.

Basket #2 (top right): all my cleaning supplies, stampin scrubs, mist, refills, staz on cleaner and wipes

#3 (second row left): pastels, sponges, retired In Colors

#4 (second row right): things for projects, on board books,

#5 (bottom row left): material I'm currently using for bags

#6 (bottom row right): extra catalogues

The Big Reveal!!!

So, today's the big reveal! After about three weeks of working on my Stamp Room, I'm pretty much done! I was going to post all of the pics tonight but this post would of been too long! What I'm going to do is post my overall pictures and throughout the week with everything I did! Remember back... Scary wasn't it!

Here is my 'new' Stampin' Room!!! LOVE IT!!!

So, this is my Big Shot and Circle Scissors Centre with my DSP, Ink and Printer and off to the right side you can see my containers with cards in them and on top of that is where I keep my camera.

This is on the back wall, the 'Create' definition decor element, with card samples strung on a 'clothesline'

My work area with my marker and bulletin board for important stuff also, to the right is my 'cutting station'. Above my work area are shelves that I display stuff on (yup, for myself).

Here is the corner by the door with all kinds of fun stuff! I'll tell you more about it tomorrow!

I'm really loving my room, I love being surrounded by everything handmade, it is now an inspiring room! I love being in there and have been busy every evening when the boys go to bed, CREATIN'!!!

Lunchtime Sketch Challenge

This is a quick post for now, as I am getting ready for the big reveal tonight!!!

This is actually a new challenge for me! I love discovering new challenges, they're so fun!!! So, this is called The Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge and is found on the Techno Stamper blog!

Ok, so when I first saw this sketch, I knew what set I wanted to use, right away, A Flower for all Seasons! I actually have been wanting to get it for a while now, but only just recieved it due to Sale-a-bration (don't forget SAB ends on March 31st)!

I must say, I'm quite impressed with this card, it's me, but not. If you know what I mean... I LOVE how pretty it is!!!

So, right now I'm on my new computer, but I don't have any photo editing software installed yet, so...I couldn't crop or put my watermark on it! But that's besides the point! What do you think? Pretty isn't it!!! This is way outside my comfort zone!

The End is Near: Operation Organization

Hello, Hello, Hello! Guess what? Glenn is gone to pick up the new laptop! I can't wait!!! Anyway, onto today's topic...The End is Near! Yup, things are going grand in my stamping room! I LOVE it!!! I feel so much more productive! So, don't forget Monday, March 15, 2010 is the big REVEAL! I'll also be announcing the big winner of my blog candy!!! Don't forget, I've been cleaning my stamping room and finding LOTS of goodies!

So, I wanted to show you a couple of things that have REALLY made a big difference for me! First off, it HAS to be my ink pads. Before, they were stored in a box in the drawer of my armour; I didn't know what I had because I couldn't see them!

Plus, if I needed to get something out of the bottom of the box I had to take some out and lay them on the floor (then Nicholas would take off with it) and it got to be annoying and time consuming. Also, my reinkers were in there as well and I was always afraid that little fingers would run off with it and open, and pour it on my carpet! So, here is how I solved that problem!

Nice, eh? I ordered the Stampin' Up! Color Caddy and I have to admit, it was worth the $84.95! I now have it stored up on a shelf and I can SEE what I have and get it in the blink of an eye! Also, the caddy swivels (sweet) and has a place on top to store the reinkers! Gotta love it!

The other thing that used to drive me bonkers was storing my Stampin' Around Wheels (large and small) plus their handles. Before, they were in a box in a drawer of the armour. Messy, and again very disorganized.

Now, I have them stored nice and neat and put with my stamp sets. I ordered the Stampin' Around Wheel Storage containers for both sizes! And I must say, I LOVE THEM!!!

I forgot to take a picture of how I stored the handles (3 small and 1 large). What I did was take two of the containers and put them in it! GREAT!!! LOVE IT!

The Big Shot Bags!

Edited to add: I have been trying to post this now for the past 2-3 days and have been having no luck! The good news is our new computer is in and Glenn will be picking it up this evening. I'll need to transfer files over and such so I'm hoping we'll be completely converted over sometime in the next week!

So, here they are! The bags I made for Kay over the weekend! They were both made using the Big Shot and the Scallop Square die! Did you know that you can cut up to 8 pieces of fabric with the big shot? LOVE IT!!! Works out great too for my arthritis, my hands last me ALOT longer!!!

The first bag that you see here is the larger of the two! You're probably wondering where the scallops are, well, I used them as my seam and therefore, they're in-between the inner and outter fabrics! Where as the second one is the Rag Quilt and the scallops are on the outside for that "rag" look!!! What do you think? You can find the directions here for bag 1 and here for bag 2 (just remember I adjusted mine to a different size!).

If you are wondering about the flowers, I did those with the Big Shot as well! I actually used the Flower Folds die and used 3 pieces of fabric for each size and I hand stiched the button on. To get them onto the bags I just used a safety pin, just in case you wanted to take them off! Oh, and in each of the bags there is a covered plastic canvas bottom so that you can have a hard base (the one in the rag quilt purse is removeable and the other purse, it's in the lining!).

Four in One!

I know I promised this last week, but I actually got a little sidetracked. Yup, Nicholas is still sick and then one of our local demos (my upline's upline) left this morning to go to a meeting with Shelli! YUP! Shelli as in CEO and Co-founder of Stampin' Up! Someone in our INKredible Canadians Demo Group won the Workshop of a Lifetime and gets to have a workshop hosted by Shelli and have a demo meeting with her. Anyway, Kay" (the demo here) daughter is a demo in Ontario and is going to the demo meeting so...Kay is going to! Anyway, long story short...Kay wanted me to make a rag quilt purse for her daughter and if I had time, one for her! This was Friday! So, I was a busy bee all weekend and made the two purses (bigger than the one I posted a while ago). I'll post pictures of them for you tomorrow.

Today, I have my four in one card! What's that you say? Well, I made a card that took in four different challenges (even though I didn't get to submit it for a couple of them, it's the inspiration that counts!). Anyway, here it is!

I think it's such a pretty card!!!

So, the four challenges are as follows:

Late Night Stampers Yahoo Group we were to use our Designer Paper. So I used the Designer Paper Pawsitively Prints.

Pals Paper Arts we had a Theme Challenge: Spring. For this challenge, the floral pattern in Pawsitively Prints and my flower cut with the Bigz XL Flower Folds Sizzix Die for the Big Shot. 'Cause what says spring more than flowers!

Stampin' Royalty (a new to me challenge blog) was an Inspiration Challenge and the picture is here below. So, what did I use for inspiration from this picture? Hmmm, do you think you know? Well, for those of you who said flowers, you're right! (Ok, whoever owns this area, I WANT!!!).

And, last but not least...Mojo Monday! The sketch to the left started it all! All of these challenges I showed you today are not only for demonstrators...they're for EVERYONE!!! So, if you need a little kick in the bud to get started, check out a challenge. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

PPA31: An Inspiration Challenge

Ok, so tonight I have two cards for you! They are both going to be enteries for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge! I really liked the challenge this week...inspiration. How it works is you're given a picture and you are supposed to draw elements from it to help you design your card, such as: colors and the overall theme. Now, this week's inspiration picture looks like this:

What are you drawn to? Me, the top left hand corner's colours (Kraft, Basic Black, Real Red and Very Vanilla), the bottom left hand corner's picture of a cage and the overall theme of birds! So very pretty!

My first picture is attempt #1. I made it earlier this afternoon and I don't know how I feel about it!

So, for this card I used the colours I said I liked (Kraft, Basic Black and Very Vanilla, minus the Real Red), and the bird cage from the Happy Moments Sale-a-bration stamp set. The paper is from a retired pack of DSP that I LOVE, Urban Oasis (Spring-Summer 2009), the punch of vanilla is from the Vanilla Hodgepodge harware and I used the Happy Birthday from the Vintage Labels set from SAB!

The next card is one I made after I put the boys to bed. It is from a sketch that I copied off a magazine card. I was at one of the drugstores and was flipping through the magazines and found a card similar to this one so I took out my notebook and copied the sketch. Unfortunately, I forgot to write down the magazine! Oh, well...

The elements that I drew from the magazine card was the bird button and the idea of having the focal point on a small piece of cardstock in the center. So, I took out my Big Shot and cut out the tag from Two Tags, used a Real Red corduroy button, an eyelet for the eye, drew the beak, legs and tail feathers with a black marker and free hand cut the wing from the Groom DSP. Used some twine and the Happy Bird-day image from the Picture This level one hostess set from the Occasions mini, inked it up with a black marker and used the stamp-a-ma-jig to even it out. I also used a bit of paper, again, from the Urban Oasis DSP like I did in the previous card.

I hope you like them...I'm still not sure how I feel about them...weird...

Operation Organization: Day 6 (I think?!?)

So, things are going really well with the organization of my room! I actually got some stamping done this weekend and I LOVE IT! Everything so far is working for me! YAY!!! I'm more of a visual person, I like seeing what I have (hence why I usually have a mess!), and the way I have things organized I can actually see things and they all have a home to be kept when I'm not using them. I've also been cleaning up as I go along and especially once I'm done (instead of leaving it for 'later', which, for some strange reason, never rolls around!). Thanks to all of you for your comments, keep them coming...having the encouragement from you guys keeps me going! (Yes, there have been moments I've thought, "I'm crazy to be doing this...I could be doing something that is a whole lot more FUN! Then I realize, that this is the best thing for me...).

Anyway, I actually don't have anything of mine to show you right now. I have been dealing with a sick little boy since yesterday morning. Yup, Nicholas has caught that gastro thing that's going around. Poor little guy! I had to cancel both my kid's class (yesterday) and my stamper's group (tonight) because he only wants Mommy (he actually pushes Glenn away!). So, Nanny Wells took Aidan for the day (thanks!) and Nicholas and I spent most of the day watching Thomas the Tank Engine movies (he LOVES James; he has the motorized one and sleeps with it!!!).

So, what I have for you is a card my upline, Kerry, made. I took a wack of pics the last time I was at her house and thought I'd share one with you. So, here it is...

I LOVE this card! It uses the daisies big shot die and the swirly die as well! Anyway, I'm hoping to have something fun for you tomorrow!

Rag Quilt Purse and Operation Organization: Day 3

Hi All, today is going to be a short post, as I am trying to get supper ready before hubby comes home (roast beast, I mean beef ; ), and roasted potatoes, carrots and turnips, yum-o), then baths for the boys, then Glenn and I are going out on a date! Yay! We're going to see Shutter Island I can't wait! I read the book and it was AMAZING!!! Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes!

So, I wanted to show you a project I did last week! I faithfully go to Angie Kennedy Juda's blog My Chic n Scratch (she is a really talented SU demo!) and she has a tutorial on her blog for the Rag Quilt Purse, and when I say tutorial I mean a step by step video tutorial! THANKS, ANGIE!!! Make life for me that much easier!

What do you think? I LOVE it!!! I wasn't intending on making one for a while but I was out at Wal-Mart one day and came accross this package of six different materials! These were the colours in them, they remind me of Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze (in colors from last year). How did I do this? Well, the Big Shot, Clear Scallop Square die and Angie's tutorial and that's it! Seriously, if you have a Big Shot, try this out! I'm going to make one next time that is alot bigger!

Okay, update on Operation Organization...it's going GREAT! Today I worked a bit on filing...yes, filing... I can't wait to show you guys how it's coming along! Ok, I showed you yesterday how I stored my ribbons. So, here is how I stored the scraps!

This is a pasta jar I found at the local grocery store sometime last year. I originally stored my hostess incentive stamps in there, but I have something else planned for that! Oh, and the flower on the jar? It's a hostess decor element that I recieved sometime last year. Isn't it pretty? I just love all the colors and textures of the ribbons! It's like my own little decoration for my stamp room!

Ok, so...I'll be back on Monday with some more fun things for you! Believe it or not, I can't wait to STAMP!!! Until then, have a FUN FILLED weekend!

Operation Organization: Day 2!

So, here where are again. Day 2 of my Operation Organization (I like that name :). So, I'm actually making REALLY good progress! Oh, thanks for all of your awesome words of encouragements! For those of you who tried to post a comment yesterday and had trouble...it's fixed!

Ok, remember all of those boxes? Well, I've emptied and organized THREE of them already! Yay ME!!! So, the past couple of days I've been working on PAPER! CRAZY! I mean I had scraps coming out the ying-yang!! So, I took "Wookiemouse's" advice and anything that was smaller than 2x2, I chucked. At first I found this REALLY hard for me to do...and even now, as I look at the garbage box of scraps, I think hmmm, am I doing the right thing? But, the more I work at it the easier it is! I mean I don't even use anything smaller than 2x2 so all it's doing is taking up SPACE! Precious space that I can't afford to give to scraps I don't use! Ok, so that's all I'm going to say regarding PAPER today...as I'm still working on it and waiting for some storage cases for my 12x12 to arrive.

So, what do I have to show you today...hmmm...oh, I KNOW! The back of my door! Huh? Your probably wondering why I want to show you the back of my door, but I found it is a GREAT space for storing things! So, here is the before...

So this is an over the door organizer I found at Wal-mart sometime in the fall. It is with all the closet organizing stuff. So, what did I keep in here? I keep my small punches that don't fit on my wall bars, ribbons, embossing stuff, money can, leads, scissors, sweet treat cups and hearts, stamp-a-ma-jig, mat pack and some other stuff.

And, here are the after pics.

As you can see, the before and after overall pictures don't look all that different. BUT, when you look at the next ones...WOWZA! So, in the bottom shelf is my punches, small ones, edges and the new design punches. The next two shelves has my ribbon, organized in size (for the largest) then all in color. Also, on the second shelve you can see that I still have my sweet treat cups. Oh, and I took this picture BEFORE I found all my ribbon so...there is more ribbon in there. The fourth shelf has all my embossing supplies in there. And, the top has my money can, leads and extra scissors. So, where is my scraps of ribbon? Hmm, I actually forgot to take a picture of it! So, I'll show you tomorrow. And everything else that was in there? Well, you'll just have to wait and see!

Hello to all my fellow followers! It's so nice to be back, I think my new meds are slowly kickin' in. So, I know I have told you that it was due to my arthritis pain, but there has been something else as well...I haven' been inspired to doanything. And here is the reason why...

I know, I'm really embarssed to show you guys these pictures, but you know, I had to explain myself! Really, who can be inspired to create in a room like that! Argg...this is our family office, which is now lovingly referred to as "Mommy's Stamp Room." Sweet, I know, but things have gotten out of control. So much so that I haven't done any stamping now in two weeks! Yes, TWO WHOLE WEEKS! It's really discouraging. But, I found a way out!!!

I was on a fellow bloggers website yesterday and she mentioned this website where there was a Organization Challenge (from last year, but who cares?). SO, I clicked on over and WOW! I was struck with the need to do this! Here is the site, it's called "My Love Affair with the Label Maker." It is AMAZING! She has 29 weeks of challenges - everything from storing your paper to dies, to rub-ons and stamps...you name it she's got the goods! So, how inspired you may ask, well...this inspired...

Crazy, eh! As she describes it, I "went for broke!" Yes, I gutted my space and I can't believe how much stuff I had in a 7'x8' room. Just look...

CRAZY!!! That is all my STUFF boxed up and in my spare room and outside my stamp room. Believe it or not, I'm REALLY excited! Yes, I know, I know, how can someone be that excited about cleaning? Well, to me it means helping me create and focus on my business! NOTHING is going back into that room until it has a home.

So, I am going to need your help along the way! Any words of wisdom or encouragement would be GREATLY appreciated! I am going to post as often as I can about my adventure so you can truck along right along with me! I won't bore you always with this stuff (unless you really want me to) I'll be posting some of my work and stuff from my demo swap last week!

I will have my BIG REVEAL on Monday, March 15, 2010. That is my goal! And for bearing with me during this time I'll have a little treat for you on that date. Yes...some Blog Candy! Fabric Accessories and Home Decor with the Big Shot!

Fabric is one of the industry's hottest trends right now, and the best part is, you don't even need to be a seamstress to get in on the action! You can create gorgeous fabric accessories and home décor, all without ever touching a sewing machine.
Here are some answers to questions you may be asking concerning cutting fabric with the Big Shot.

What type of fabric will the Big Shot cut? The Big Shot will cut all types of fabric. For a complete list of Big Shot-approved materials, click here.

How many pieces of fabric can I cut at a time? That depends on the fabric. Different fabrics vary in thickness. For example, your Big Shot can cut through eight layers of cotton, which is a relatively thin fabric, but it will only cut through one layer of faux fur, which is a very thick fabric.

Do you shim fabric in a Big Shot differently than paper? No. Your Big Shot works the same with fabric as it does with paper. Different fabrics vary in thickness, much the same as different paper materials vary in thickness. If you are only cutting one layer of a very thin fabric, you might need to use a piece of card stock as a shim just as you would if you were only cutting one layer of thin paper.

Will all Big Shot dies cut fabric? You can cut fabric with any of the Sizzix steel-rule dies (Originals, Bigz, Bigz L, and Bigz XL). You cannot cut fabric with Sizzlits, Embosslits, Textured Impressions Embossing Folders, or Texturz Plates.

Will dies with score lines ruin my fabric? You can still use dies with score lines to cut fabric. The score lines will slightly distress your fabric, but shouldn't damage it permanently. However, we recommend that if you are using dies with score lines to only cut one or two layers at a time (depending on the thickness of your fabric). If you try to cut too many layers at a time, it is possible that the score lines could tear your fabric.

Will cutting fabric with the Big Shot dull my dies? The Big Shot steel-rule dies (Originals, Bigz, Bigz L, and Bigz XL) were designed to work on several different types of materials. For a complete list of Big Shot approved materials, click here. Cutting fabric with your Big Shot dies will not result in any damage to your dies, and will not dull them any faster than cutting paper will.

Should I wash my fabric before working with it? It really depends on the fabric. Some lower-quality fabrics will shrink after they're washed, which could result in your project coming apart. However, many quilters don't wash their fabric first because the fabric is stiffer and easier to work with before it's washed. And if you use higher-quality fabrics, they will likely not shrink.

Does Stampin' Up! plan to sell fabric? Stampin' Up! works hard to stay on trend, but it just isn't possible to offer every crafting product on the market. We will continue to explore new products and possibilities, but will keep stamps, ink, and paper as our core products.

I don't have a sewing machine. Can I still create fabric projects? Yes! The world of fabric crafting is as varied as the world of paper crafting. There are several alternatives to using a sewing machine. You can create many simple designs sewing by hand using a needle and thread or even a hot glue gun. In addition, fusible web is a great option for creating one-of-a-kind fabric crafts.

What is fusible web, and how does it work? Fusible web is a manmade fiber that will melt when heated with an iron and become sticky. When it is placed between two pieces of fabric, the melting of the web causes the fabrics to fuse together making it possible for you to adhere the fabric without the use of a sewing machine. Fusible web is available in rolls (similar to tape), in pre-packaged pieces, or is sold by the yard in your local fabric store.

My quilting friends mention things called charm packs, layer cakes, and fat quarters. What are they? Charm packs, layer cakes, and fat quarters are terms for precut cotton that is generally used for quilting. Charm packs include a variety of coordinating fabrics cut into 5" x 5" squares. The packs have an assortment of patterned and solid fabrics, and their small size makes them ideal for using on quilt blocks. Layer cakes are just like charm packs, but they are larger in size, with the cotton cut into 10" x 10" squares. Fat quarters are pieces of cotton cut into quarter yard segments. However, instead of being cut vertically, like you would cut a piece of fabric off a bolt, fat quarters are cut horizontally first, giving you a piece of cotton that measures 18" X 22". All of these options are a great way to get a good selection of fabrics at a relatively inexpensive price.

Now, are you ready to see some items made with our Big Shot? Well, here are items that were on display at the Leadership Convention last month! I'll also do my best to tell you which BS dies were used!

Dies used: not sure, but I think the Hearts were made using the heart from the The Punch Windows Movers and Shapers die (115953 $39.95) and the yellow and black squares could possibly be the Bigz Clear Scallop Square die (115950 $29.95) with the scallops on the inside.

An Update...

Hey everyone, I just wanted to apologize for the lack of posts the past two weeks. My arthritis has flared up (the worst it's ever been) and I've been unable to do much of anything! God love my husband, he is so amazing, caring and helpful ~ I don't know how I would have coped without him! Thanks, baby!!!

I've really missed my stamping and can't wait to get back at it! So, that being said, I'll be back with some new stuff on Monday!

Ahhh, isn't that sweet!!! You know what? I just LOVE that Love Bandit set!!! It rocks! So this little scrap page is a 6x6 page that I did for one of my workshops this month! It was CASE'd (copy and share everything!) from the cover of our Stampin' Success magazine this month! The one on the magazine was a bit different (well, alot different) the only thing I really kept was the brown sqare and the idea of the year! Gosh, it's too adorable! In the two empty blocks you'd put a couple of 2x2 pictures in them!

So, quick post today...getting ready for my kids class on Sunday! I'll be back again on Monday with another Mojo sketch and Valentine's card! See you then!

Valentine's Easel Card

Today's post is actually a card I made at our demonstrator shoebox swap! Isn't it gorgeous!!! How a shoebox swap works is you create a card then you make enough for say 10 other people to make it. Then you put your stuff at a table and you start there. So, my stuff was at table #3 so I made the cards at tables 4-14. This was the first time our group did a shoebox swap and it was FUN!!!

So, this type of card is called an easel card, and I'll show you why in a minute. But just a little note about the heart punch...if you look close at the corners you'll notice that they're not perfect, that's because the corner heart punch wasn't used. So, if this is something you'd like to do, get the corner heart punch when you get the heart edge punch!!!

Now, this card has a 4x4 card front. So, to make it into an easel card your bas will be 4x8 folded in half to make it 4x4. THEN you are going to take one of the sides and fold it into the middle to make one side 2x4 and the whole thing 4x6 (confused yet?). Okay, from there you're going to get another piece of cardstock and cut it at 4x4 (this will be your 'front'), decorate however you'd like. Next you're going to adhere it to the 2x4 piece that's folded in like so...

Then you are going to create something on the bottom part that will keep the 'front' from slipping down flat. Here flowers were punched out from the Heart to Heart punch and adhered together then popped up with dimensionals. Another popular thing to use are larger brads and buttons! There you have it folks, an easel card. Now you can make these in any size you'd like just adjust the measurements!

Mojo meets Mercy!

Hey all, I'm back with my final post of the day! Yay, ME! This is my Mojo Monday submission for this week.
Actually, I wasn't even planning on doing it this week as I already had what I wanted to blog ready for this week. BUT, I was on Mercy Kerin's blog the other day and she had this BEAUTIFUL flower on one of her cards and THEN she posted the tutorial. Well, knowing me as I do...I HAD to try it out! and boy was it ever easy to do! Then, I just didn't want to leave it at that I just HAD to put it on a card ;) So, naturally I went to the Mojo Monday blog to see this week's sketch and realized that it was PERFECT for incorporating my new flower! Don't you just love it when things go right!!!

Here is this week's sketch, you have the option of a round or square card using the same layout! For mine I used a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" square (I may try the circle later) 'cause I was in a groove and didn't want to interupt my flow to get out my Circle Sissors Plus! Are you ready? Are you ready to see my card? Oh, man, I'm soo excited!!!

Isn't it GORGEOUS!!! Yes I know, I'm being a little bit conceited, but I LOVE IT!!! And it all started with the flower!

Isn't it pretty! So, my inspiration for this card started with one little flower and turned into something beautiful! I am so loving this paper as well, it's the Cottage Wall DSP. The colors are beaufiful and then I just HAD to use my new butterfly embosslits 'cause ya know that's my new fav thing! I don't know how, but it just all came together! THANK YOU MERCY!!! So, don't forget to go and check out Mercy's website, she is absolutely fabulous and one very talented lady!!!

Oh, and I just HAD to do the inside! Rich Razzleberry is such a gorgeous color and the butterflies look awesome!

Organization: Punches

So, I'm baack! Here is my second post of the day!

I completely forgot to show you guys this! My husband went to work and this box was on our front step! This is the new design for the boxes of Stampin' Up! Orders during Sale-a-bration! I LOVE it 'cause it's sooo true! Everytime the delivery guys bring a SU box to my house, I'm really EXCITED! Then, during SAB, I'm even more excited! HAHAHA!!!

The next thing I want to show you today is how I store my punches. This is something that I am planning on doing on Wednesdays, from now on! Wednesday is going to be "Organizational Tips" day! So, here we go...

The room I have to work in is a small room, 8x7 actually. And is has no windows! It is our family office, but everyone (my husband and boys) call it Mommy's Stampin' Room! Too, cute! So, I originally started out having my punches in an old armoire on a shelf, but as my collection grew, I needed to do something different! Here is where I saw all the space on my walls, NOT being used and thought...hmmm, STORAGE!!! So, I got a few towel bars and screwed them into my walls (making sure that at least one side is in a stud 'cause those punches can be HEAVY!). And, Voila!

So, here are all of my large punches (excluding my two new punches!). Isn't it awesome! I can't get over how much room this frees up for me! Plus, it's like having artwork on the wall! I've also have my hole punch and my Crop-a-dile up there as well! As for all of my smaller punches I'll show you next week with my next organizing tip! I'm sure you're all wondering about the little ghosties there on my racks! It's something my boys made together at playgroup last October. I thought it was too cute to put away so here they are!

When you go out to purchase your rods, remember to take a large punch with you because you wouldn't believe how many different sizes in towel bars there are! These ones I got for around $5 each in the hardware section at Wal-mart! They are just regular bathroom towel bars! Once you have your bar up on the wall, you just put your punch on it like in the picture to the left!

So, I hope you've found this tip to be a bit useful! I know it's helped me enourmously! And by putting my punches on the wall has opened up more space for MORE STAMPS! You know, a girl can't have too many shoes, purses or STAMPS!!!

Easy Peasy Bandit Treats...(the first of three posts for today)

This is actually going to be the first of three posts today! This first one was meant to go up yesterday and for some reason (I blame on my slow computer) I couldn't get it to post!

Here is a quick and simple treat box that would be great for the kids to give to friends and classmates for Valentine's Day this year! If you have the Big Shot then you'll LOVE the Matchbox die! It is so easy to use!!! The Big Shot will actually cut and score your cardstock for you! I LOVE IT!!!

So, here I used the glitter Valentine's paper from the Occasions catalogue for the outer wraped box and then I just used red cardstock for the base. What's that, inside the box you ask? Well, it's Hershey's Milk Chocolate nuggets wrapped in Valentine's Paper!!! So, cute!

Little Mr. Love Owl...

Ok, so I just realized that my resolution to blog more just went out the window! I didn't even realize that it's been a week TODAY since I posted anything!!! As Aidan would say...WE-diculous!!! It's not like I haven't been creating...because I HAVE, but in the past week I've had two workshops and two sick little boys!!! Anyway...no excuses!

Here's a card that I did in my workshops this month...soooo cute!!!

Adorable, isn't he!!! I can tell you that this is a 10min or less card!!! Easy peasy!!! Little Mr. Owl is getting ready to land on the LOVE STUMP! As you can tell, LOTS of new stuff on this card! The polka dot embossing folder on the choco chip cardstock, the Love Bandit stamp set, pretty in pink satin ribbon, the DSP Valentine's (can't remember the name right now, but I'm going through it like CRAZY!), the heart border punch. But, wait...there's more...

I don't know what happened to the colour of this picture...but it does go well with the romantic Valentine's theme!!! So, new stuff here is the hearts corner punch and the love you much from the Well Scripted stamp set!

After I put the boys to bed tonight I came down to our basement to my stamping room. I realized that I had left my table lamp on...so as I entered the room here's what I saw...

This is our cat Maximus...under the lamp on my desk! And, boy, was his fur HOT!!! He likes to find a warm spot to curl up, but he's never gotten under a lamp before!!! Maximus, aka Max and the black devil, is named after Russell Crowe's character in Gladiator, one of my favourite movies. When I first saw that movie I turned to Glenn and said, I'm getting a black cat and naming him Maximus! So, in 2000, we moved to Prince Edward Island, I was given a black cat (from a farm) and named him Maximus - he's the original sooky baby boy of the family! He never really has been one for up in arms, but I guess in his old age (will be 10 in May) he's gotten really sooky and after the boys are in bed and Glenn and I watch a little TV, he curls up in my lap and goes to sleep! Sooo cute!!!

So, I have something planned to be posted everyday until Friday this week. I've gotta make up for lost blog time!!! Sooo, see you tomorrow!

Strawberry SUper Stampers and my Boys!

We did our first shoebox swap, and I must say all the cards were AWESOME and making them was so FUN! The one standing up is Aidan (turned 4 in October) and the munchkin in the barrel is Nicholas (turned 2 in December). Notice the shirts they're wearing? Yup, their New England Patriots jerseys that we brought back for them when we were at the game (I think we're going back again this fall!). As you can proably tell...I LOVE my Big Shot!!!

Open House Pics!

So, I had my open house yesterday and it was F-U-N!!! Alot of people didn't get to come out though as we had a lot of snow the day before and were probably still digging their way out! Oh, well! We still had a blast! Okay, so you want to know what were in those baskets I gave to those who came? Well, I had some of the NEW Satin Ribbon, Epoxy Brads and Cordoroy Buttons, plus a mini stamp!!! Let me tell you something...it is sooo funny watching people go through their baskets and FREAKING out over what's in them! It's like me every time I get an order come to the house...CHRISTMAS MORNING!!! Would you like to see what everyone got to make?

So, this is the first card we did! Isn't it adorable? I've seen a few different types of birdhouse cards and decided to try one myself! So easy and SUPER cute!!! The bird is from the NEW Occasions catalogue and is actually a PUNCH! Yes, a punch! It has the bird, the wing and the branch!

This is the inside of the birdhouse card with the belly band to keep it closed! What do you think?

The next card is a CASE of a card made by one of my Stampin' Idols, Mary Fish! You can see her card HERE! Yes, I know, it's EXACTLY like hers! It is awesome, how can I change it! PLUS, if you can believe it, I have a lot of customers who doesn't like pink! I mean, who doesn't like PINK! It's my FAV colour!!! Oh, well! To each their own. So, what I usually try to do is accomadate those people and what better way then have a non-pink Valentine's card!!!

Last, but not least...something PINK!!! I mean, really...I don't think I can do anything without a touch of pink! This is the Big Shot pillow box die and we used the NEW Sale-a-bration paper called Welcome Neighbour! LOVE IT!!! I wasn't paying attention when I punched my hearts and so you can notice that the hearts on my paper is upside down! Oh well! What's inside you ask? Hmmm, Hershey's Chocolate nuggets, three to be exact! You want chocolate? Well, this is the creamiest chocolate I've ever tasted (next to the Lindors that my in-laws brought me back from Swizerland, but that's on a whole different level!). All I did was take the leftover paper from the cut out of the pillow box and flipped it over and wrapped it around the chocolate! Easy peasy! So, the zig-zag of the pink chocolate paper is the flip side of the hearts paper!

Tote-ally Tess Framed Up!

Hello, Hello, Hello, all my beautiful readers! I have something today to show you that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! It features the new set Tote-ally Tess from the Occasions mini (hitting stands Jan 5!). I was browsing around Splitcoast the other day and saw a couple of different framed items with Tess in it and I HAD to do one of my own!!!

So here it is! There are four 3 1/2" x 5" rectangles, each featuring something different! This is special because it promotes my business and the Stampin' Up! motto; inspire.create.share. Isn't it beautiful? Here are close ups of each image (can you spot the new products?).

Yup, pretty much EVERYTHING is new! From Tess, to the DSP, the butterflys and the scalloped punches, it's all NEW!!!

So, here is Tess! What I did with her was stamped her on some Whisper White cardstock and then...stamped here on various other DSP and cardstock then I pieced her all together onto the first stamped image! So, NO COLOURING!!! This technique is called paper piecing (simple enough, eh b'y?). Then we have my business card layered on top of various pieces of cardstock! The Old Olive is punched with the Scalloped Trim punch and corner punch! The Trim punch you can earn for FREE from the Sale-a-bration catalogue with a $65 purhase! The corner punch is from the Occasions mini (so is the DSP!).

Next is the definition of inspire. I typed it up in Word and increased the font so that it's VERY large. The definition I copied from the set Define your Life. The butterflies are also NEW and are from the Occasions Mini catalogue and is an Embosslit die for the Big Shot called Beautiful Wings! LOVE IT!!! (I kind of have a thing for butterflies, believe it or not!!!).

Next, the definition of create. Again from the Define your Life set. The butterfly is from the Beautiful Wings embosslit die (pretty, eh?).

And, finally, share. This definition is just from a dictionary as there is no 'share' in the set Define your Life!

Mmmm, I think I will just have one New Year Resolution this year (it should last all year). We emigrated to Canada just over 3 years ago from England and I have to admit that I am not the best person a keeping in touch with family and friends. I have been known to miss the odd birthday, shock horror, and me a card maker!! So, my New Years Resolution will be to keep in contact with people and send out birthday, anniversary cards etc in plenty of time!!

The other little animals included in this stamp set is the Giraffe, Turtle, Whale, Owl, Monkey and Lion (all from the Nursery Alphabet!!!)

Now, did you spot the other goodies on this card? Well, you'll find ALOT!!! Notice the scalloped edges? Well, that is using the NEW Scallop Trim Border that you can earn FOR FREE during SALE-A-BRATION! Also, the corners were done with the NEW Scallop Trim Corner from the Occasions Mini. Hmm, oh ya! The designer paper...also NEW and from the Occasions Mini ~ it's called Sweet Pea Paper Stack and comes in a pack of 48 12x12 sheets! LOVE IT!

Notice the color of the fox? Well, I used the ROCK AND ROLL technique! First, I stamped her in Pumpkin Pie and then I rolled the edges in Chocolate Chip! Nice effect, eh? More like a fox now!!!

So, this is the inside of my card! LOVE IT!!! What set is this, you ask again? It, too, is new and can be earned FOR FREE during Sale-a-bration! It's called Whimsical Words, and comes with six little verses that are similar in style to this one! Again, I used the rock and roll technique!

New Year's Resolutions BLOG CANDY!!!

Wow! Can you believe it! Christmas has come and gone and the New Year is right around the corner!!! Which means that it's also time for your annual NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS AND GOALS!!! Don't groan (I heard you!) because this year is going to be FABULOUS!!!

Yes, in case your wondering, I do have my resolutions and goals made, now all I need to do is keep them! One way for me to try to guarantee this is by tell you what that are (since by telling someone I'll feel obligated to try to do some!!!)

Attend Church at least once a month. Yes, I realize that this shouldn't be difficult, but I'm lucky that I can go a few times a year! I do pray at home and thank God everyday for the people and things in my life, but I am now ready to do more...going to Church is one way of doing that for me.
Spend more time doing FUN STUFF with my family. We kind of take it for granted that we all have each other so I am proposing to do at least one outing with my husband and boys at least every second week (such as the Geo Centre, Museum, Art Gallery, etc!).
Visit friends and family MORE! After loosing a very dear Aunt of mine recently I've come to realize that I need to spend more time with those who are dear to me! I usually see them at family functions, but that's it! So, once a month I'm going to invite them into my home and also go to see them!!!
Be more active and recommit to Weight Watchers. I've been in Weight Watchers since September and had been doing great, but as things got busier throughout the fall I kind of let it slide...so I have to GET TO IT!!!
BLOG MORE - Yes, I don't do it near as much as I want so I want to commit to at least every second day, if I can, I'll do more!
To have at least one workshop a month (wink, wink)
To have 2 stampers groups by the end of 2010 (nudge, nudge)
To have 3 recruits by the end of 2010 (SMILE!)
To do more personal scrapbooking! I need to catch up, I am still working on my 2 year old son's scrapbook of when I was pregnant with him! And I only have up to my 4 year old son's first birthday done! SHOCKING!!!
To volunteer more: I am currently editor for a local youth organizations quarterly magazine, but I want to do more! When I lived in Prince Edward Island I used to volunteer for the Cancer Society almost everyday in the office, and more! Now, I don't do anything...so, I'd like to volunteer at the local Arthritis Society's office (I have arthritis myself) and do various charitable events for the NEW Ronald McDonald house to be built here sometime in the next year and our local Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at the Janeway (children's hospital); as they did so much for my youngest son when he was first born (he spent the first two weeks of his life there).
To TRY to have a little me time - whether it is reading, taking a shower, or going for a walk, I need to find some time to take care of myself!

GAMEDAY!!! Jets vs Pats!!!

So, I promised pictures from game day and here they are! If you haven't been keeping up with the story, here it is! My husband and I went to Boston in November to see the Jets (my team) at the Patriots (my husband's team). And here we are at the end of our trip...thanks for letting me talk about it!

This was our first view of Gillette Stadium...AHHHH, what an amazing and exciting feeling.

IT IS CRAZY driving down this road. It is four lanes of traffic (two going in, two coming out of Foxborough). So, on game day it's changed to one coming out and four going in...yes FOUR!!! One of the oncoming traffic lanes is changed and you can drive in the BRAKEDOWN lane (I was just hoping no one broke down)! Well, here in Newfoundland where I'm from we call it the SHOULDER of the road... ANYWAY where driving along in awe when this RV drives by us un FULL Patriots gear... SO COOL!!!

Boston, continued...

So, today I'll continue on with our Boston trip! So on Saturday, November 21st we started out along the Freedom Trail again...

The first two picture you see is that of Copp's Hill Burying Ground...yes, I know we visited alot of gravesite,but they were so old and beautiful (plus part of the trail that we went ot a number of them!).

The third to fifth pictures is that of the "Two if by land, one if by sea" church. I can't rembember the name of it but if you're Americian you should know what it means. Paul Revere said that if the attack was going to happen by land then hang two lanterns in this church's tower, one lantern if it was by sea...

The sixth picture is actually behind this church...it's actually quite moving. What it is are dog tags hung on wires symbolizing one for every soldier who has been killed in the most recent wars overseas. As you stand there in silence the wind actually moves them and it sounds like chimes...beautiful...I was actually very emotional here, because my husband and I lost a friend who was a soldier in Iraq a few years ago...

The seventh picture is the courtyard behind the church...with a statue of Paul Revere on Horse (I must say, the Bostonians like their horse statues) if you keep walking out that way you'll be in Little Italy...which I love...everyone is so friendly and the place smells divine...like garlic (yum-o!).

The eighth picture is of Quincy Market...inside is little fast food joints...then outside is a bunch of stores. I went into Victoria's Secret, Crate and Barrel (LOVE!), a Christmas Ornament store, a BUILD A BEAR store(YAYAYAYA!!! Glenn wouldn't let me get a bear though!)

Then the next picture is inside Fenneil Hall (upstairs), it's a meeting room...

The final picture is of myself and my husband, Glenn, downtown by the Aquarium (which we're saving for when we take the boys down!).

So, the next round of picture is going to be....GAME DAY!!!
